Together, We Can Change the Outcome
A CAPITAL CAMPAIGN
PROJECT PULSE
Together, we can help build a stronger future for emergency care.
When sudden cardiac arrest occurs outside a hospital, the national survival rate is only 9%. Improving that outcome requires more than a response—it requires reliable technology, highly trained providers, and the preparation to deliver advanced care when it matters most.
Project Pulse is a $575,000 capital campaign created to strengthen Warwick EMS’s cardiac-arrest response across the communities we serve. The campaign seeks funding for six ZOLL Zenix monitor/defibrillators, five LUCAS mechanical chest-compression devices, seven portable suction units, and advanced scenario-based training for our providers.
Through support from foundations, community members, businesses, and other funding partners, Project Pulse will help equip our providers with the resources needed to respond with greater capability and preparedness—today and into the future..
The Future of Lifesaving Care Starts Before the Call
THE NEED
Warwick EMS responded to 73 confirmed cardiac arrests in 2025. By August 30, 2026, we had already responded to 62—a 10% increase over the same period the previous year. Nationally, only about 9% of people survive an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
Cardiac-arrest calls are increasing.
Our capacity to respond must grow with them.

Zoll Zenix Monitor
Cardiac monitors are among the most important tools carried by an advanced life support unit. They allow clinicians to assess heart rhythms and vital signs, deliver defibrillation and pacing, and make informed treatment decisions throughout a patient’s care.
The Zenix was selected for capabilities that extend beyond basic monitoring and defibrillation. Its technology can provide real-time feedback on CPR compressions and ventilations, allow providers to view a patient’s underlying rhythm without interrupting compressions, automatically adjust key settings for pediatric patients, and support detailed post-call review. Its modular design also allows certain repairs and upgrades to be completed more efficiently, helping reduce future downtime.
Choosing the Zenix allows Warwick EMS to invest in technology that supports patient care, provider performance, quality improvement, and long-term serviceability
LUCAS Chest-Compression Devices
During cardiac arrest, consistent, high-quality chest compressions are essential. LUCAS devices provide mechanical compressions while allowing clinicians to coordinate defibrillation, airway management, medications, patient movement, and other critical aspects of care.
Warwick EMS currently owns three devices, but only two remain operational, and that model has been discontinued. Funding five new LUCAS devices would expand reliable access to this technology across our response area.
Portable Suction Units
A clear airway is fundamental to effective emergency care. Portable suction units allow clinicians to quickly remove fluids and obstructions that can interfere with a patient’s ability to breathe or receive ventilation.
Because emergencies do not always occur in easily accessible locations, this equipment must be compact, dependable, and ready to move with the patient. Project Pulse seeks to fund seven portable suction units to strengthen airway support throughout Warwick EMS’s response system.
Advanced Scenario-Based Training
Advanced equipment alone cannot improve care. Providers must also be prepared to use it confidently while making clinical decisions, communicating as a team, and adapting as a patient’s condition changes.
Project Pulse will support realistic, scenario-based training focused on cardiac-arrest response. These exercises will allow Warwick EMS clinicians to strengthen technical skills, team coordination, and clinical decision-making before those abilities are needed during an actual emergency.
THE tRAINING
THE EQUIPMENT
The outcome can never be guaranteed.
Our readiness can never be left to chance.
Project Pulse is designed to strengthen every part of Warwick EMS’s cardiac-arrest response—from the first clinical assessment through resuscitation, transport, and post-call review. More reliable equipment, advanced technology, and realistic training would give our providers stronger support when managing some of the most complex emergencies they encounter.
The impact extends beyond any single device or call. This campaign would help create greater consistency across our frontline units, expand access to critical equipment, support ongoing quality improvement, and prepare our clinicians to work together with confidence under pressure.
For the people and communities we serve, it represents a continued commitment to readiness: ensuring Warwick EMS can meet a growing need with the people, preparation, and resources required to provide advanced care.

A Stronger Response, Built for the Moments That Matter
The remaining campaign funds would support realistic training focused on clinical decision-making, equipment proficiency, and team coordination.
$13,991
Advanced Scenario-Based Training
Seven portable units would provide dependable airway support wherever an emergency occurs, including locations with limited access.
$9,464
Seven Portable Suction Units
This funding would expand access to consistent mechanical chest compressions during cardiac-arrest response and patient movement.
$83,545
Five LUCAS Chest-Compression Devices
The largest portion of the campaign would fund advanced cardiac-monitoring technology across Warwick EMS’s frontline response fleet.

Warwick EMS is pursuing support through foundation grants, corporate and community partnerships, individual contributions, and other available funding opportunities. Of the total $575,000 campaign goal, $75,000 has been designated as the community fundraising portion.
Donations made through our public campaign page will count toward that community goal while Warwick EMS continues pursuing additional support for the campaign’s remaining needs.

The Next Outcome Has Not Yet Been Written
We cannot predict when or where the next cardiac arrest will happen. We can make sure our providers are equipped, prepared, and ready when that moment comes.
Through Project Pulse, foundations, businesses, community partners, and individual donors can help strengthen the care available to every person who lives, works, and visits within the communities we serve.
