Community CPR and First Aid Classes

Warwick Community Ambulance is proud to offer life-saving CPR and First Aid training to our community. Our courses, certified by Health & Safety Institute (HSI), are designed to equip individuals with essential skills in CPR and First Aid. Whether you’re a parent, teacher, coach, or just interested in learning how to respond in emergencies, our community classes offer hands-on training to ensure you’re ready when it counts.

Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Course

Warwick Community Ambulance offers a comprehensive Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) course for individuals who wish to advance beyond basic first aid but are not currently Emergency Medical Services (EMS) providers. This course is ideal for those who may be the first on the scene of an emergency or medical incident, including:

  • Law enforcement officers
  • Correctional officers
  • Security personnel
  • Event and crowd control staff
  • Lifeguards
  • Park rangers
  • Workplace Emergency Response Team (ERT) members
  • Disaster team members

The EMR course, certified by the Health & Safety Institute (HSI), is designed to equip participants with essential skills for managing medical and trauma-related emergencies. This 50-hour program provides in-depth training in patient assessment, trauma response, and life-saving interventions, going beyond standard first aid to ensure participants can act confidently and effectively in critical situations.

Course Benefits
This course is an excellent foundation for those interested in further training, such as EMT certification or advanced studies. It can prepare students for roles in pre-hospital, industrial, and first responder settings. Led by experienced instructors, the EMR course combines classroom instruction with hands-on practice, building the confidence and competence necessary to respond effectively in emergency scenarios.

 

Professional Certification Courses

In addition to community classes, Warwick Community Ambulance provides professional certification courses for healthcare providers through the American Heart Association (AHA). Our offerings include:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS): Essential CPR skills for healthcare professionals. BLS certification courses include both provider and instructor levels, helping you or your team gain the skills needed for immediate life support.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS): Our ACLS courses teach the advanced skills required for managing severe cardiovascular emergencies. With both provider and instructor levels available, participants can further develop their clinical and instructional expertise.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS): Specially designed to meet the needs of healthcare providers who respond to pediatric emergencies, our PALS courses emphasize the skills necessary for managing critically ill children. Both provider and instructor courses are available.
