Emergency calls often begin in moments of uncertainty. We meet each patient and family with calm, compassion, and respect—bringing a steady presence when it is needed most.
BIKE TEAM
CARE WITHIN REACH
The Warwick EMS Bike Team places trained clinicians directly within these environments. By navigating pedestrian traffic and covering large event footprints, team members can reach patients, begin care, and determine what additional resources may be needed.
Bike-based response provides a visible medical presence without requiring a full-size emergency vehicle to move continuously through an active event space.
A SMALLER FOOTPRINT
Bicycles allow clinicians to move efficiently through crowds, pathways, and areas where ambulance access may be limited or delayed.
FASTER ACCESS
Bike Team clinicians carry essential medical equipment, allowing assessment and initial treatment to begin while additional resources are still responding.
EARLIER CARE
Our Bike Team is made up of EMS providers who complete specialized training to deliver care while operating on bicycles. They train to navigate crowded events, carry essential medical equipment, and assess and treat patients in places an ambulance may have difficulty reaching. Working together, they help extend Warwick EMS’s care throughout the community.
Coordinating the people and preparation behind Warwick EMS’s Bike Team. Working alongside the team’s specially trained providers, he helps ensure they are ready to respond at community events and reach patients in areas where an ambulance may have difficulty getting through. His role brings together the planning, teamwork, and hands-on care that make the Bike Team possible.

From First Contact to Continued Care.
Team members are positioned throughout an event based on its layout, attendance, activities, and anticipated medical needs. When a call is received, the nearest available clinicians can respond directly to the patient.
Once on scene, they assess the situation, begin appropriate care, and determine whether the patient can be treated on site or requires additional resources. When ambulance transport is needed, the Bike Team coordinates access and helps connect the patient with the responding crew.
The effectiveness of the Bike Team extends far beyond the bicycles themselves. Team members are trained EMS clinicians who must be prepared to provide care while operating within crowded, active, and continually changing environments.
Each response requires clinical judgment, situational awareness, clear communication, and coordination with event staff and other emergency personnel. The equipment carried by the team is selected to support early assessment, stabilization, and care until additional resources arrive.
Medical coverage should be part of the plan.
Warwick EMS works with event organizers to evaluate the setting, anticipated attendance, activities, and access considerations before recommending an appropriate coverage plan.
